“We lived at KFH in 3 different houses for a total of almost 4 years. The staff is polite, maintenance is absolutely AMAZING at resolving any issues that arise, and the homes are of good quality. I love living where I feel safe, the kids can romp and play and I don't have to worry about the house or bugs! I highly recommend living here!”

“Congratulations to the emergency maintenance guys on duty today! They arrived within 20 minutes of our no heat call, quickly identified this problem, rushed to the store for supplies, and made the necessary repairs within the hour. Very professional and efficient. Thanks! "

“Just wanted to say thank you, the Kirtland team is great. Yesterday I went to maintenance to replace the blinds in our kitchen and the guy who helped me was super nice. You're always super nice too. It's nice to be in a place where you care and always see people smiling. So I just wanted to say thank you!"

Larger platforms should use the Truman Gate. Truman Gate (open 24/7): Due to road closures, platforms now enter the campground at the end of the campground closest to the Eubank Gate, which means the signs indicating the campground are not easily seen.

Contractors - 5:30 am to 3:00 pm weekdays (commercial traffic arriving outside of these hours must proceed to the Truman Gate for security screening)

Rates during our stay at Kirtland AFB FamCamp March 23-27, 2022 were $25/night for an all-inclusive site or $10/night for hard camping or tent sites.

Camping is on a first come, first served basis. Before we arrived, I called to see if they had reservations. I was told that they usually have sites. This may not be the case during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta in October.

These days it's always a bit disappointing to get to a campsite on a first-come, first-served basis, but there were plenty of places when we arrived on Wednesday afternoon. In the new section we have 52 sites. It was very long and wide. The site had full hookups and 30/50 amp service. It would be nice if this camp accepts reservations.

The site of the new section is just a gravel parking lot separated by old telephone poles embedded in the ground. The older part has more trees and shade.

The campground is very close to grocery stores, as well as Costco, Sam's Club, Walmart, and other businesses on Eubank.

The dog park is one of the nicest we've come across in our travels. With blankets to keep the sun out and plenty of activities for the dogs. Our dogs Sierra and Ruby loved running and playing there.

Petroglyph National Monument - Petroglyph National Monument preserves one of the largest petroglyph sites in North America, featuring designs and symbols carved into volcanic rock by Native Americans and Spanish settlers between 400 and 700 years ago. These images are a valuable record of cultural expression and have deep spiritual meaning for contemporary Native Americans and for descendants of early Spanish settlers.

Old Town Albuquerque - Explore the plaza and visit over 150 shops and galleries for unique gifts from the Southwest and around the world. Old Town between Mountain Rd. and Central Ave. (Route 66) just east of Rio Grande Blvd. We ate at Little Anita's Mexican Restaurant. The fajitas were the hottest I've ever had. They smoked the whole restaurant.

Campgrounds In New Mexico

Locations are spread around Albuquerque but generally cluster in two distinct areas: North Heights and Downtown. With that in mind, the easiest way to see the sites is to visit the Northeast Heights sites by car, then pick up the downtown areas on foot.

Rental, Walter White's house, in Northeast Heights (it's privately owned, so don't interfere). We heard that the owners of the house don't like people taking pictures. When we did, we noticed the gap around the front of the house, the garbage and the open garage door, which makes it very uncomfortable for photos.

Dog House Drive-In: The glowing neon sign of this Old Town drive-in has become a Breaking Bad icon over the seasons, including when Jesse gives a homeless man his money last season. The chili and small dog were really good and spicy. Try the cherry pie!

Candy Lady: Grab a bag of "blue meth" to take home. The blue rock candy sold here was actually used in the show as a meth supplement. Candy Lady, Debbie, was a pleasure to talk to. She has a lot of knowledge about Albuquerque, the surrounding areas and Breaking Bad. The Candy Lady shop is in Old Town.

Breaking Bad Store: We took a last trip around Old Town looking for souvenirs and came across the Breaking Bad Store. It was a great sight for us. The store has its own museum with lots of shoes and photos from Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and El Camino. We had a great time taking pictures and checking out the shoes.

Although our stay was short, we saw a lot in the area. Kirtland Air Force Base FamCamp is a place we will return to. We really want to come during the hot air balloon party. Camping is fun and not expensive.
